Foreign Languages and Literatures (FOR) information  

The Spanish and Linguistics Program (BA) has been placed on moratorium status and is not currently accepting new students.  Students who have already declared this major will be allowed to complete their program.

 

Students in this program are strongly encouraged to study in a Spanish-speaking country. See faculty advisors for recommendations of foreign language study programs.

Requirements


Required Cognates


A. (6 credits)


  • A course in western civilization or equivalent history course approved by the advisor;
  • An additional course pertinent to the history or culture of the Spanish-speaking world.

B. (3 credits)


Honors Program


All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program.  Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
