This certificate program is intended primarily for individuals interested in learning more advanced concepts in organizational leadership after completion of an MBA or equivalent degree or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Students apply through the Office of Graduate Programs.
Courses in the program have prerequisites which must be completed, if not already taken as part of the prior MBA or equivalent degree or MSN or DNP. At most one equivalent graduate-level course in which a grade of B (3.0) or better was earned may be transferred into the program.
The certificate may be earned in conjunction with a degree program or as a stand-alone credential. (Students pursuing a stand-alone credential are not eligible for federal financial aid and may not participate in Commencement.) After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.
Admission to the Program
Students pursuing certificates in business are admitted to the program using the same criteria as those currently existing for the MBA program with the exception of GMAT or GRE scores. Admission to the Post-Master’s Certificate requires an MBA or equivalent degree or MSN or DNP. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in their bachelor’s degree. The applicants must also have completed a college level mathematics, statistics, or quantitative course to be eligible for the program. Applications for admission are available from the School of Management Office, its website, or from the Office of Graduate Programs. Admission to the program is not granted until the application materials are submitted and reviewed.
