Information Technology and Informatics Program (BS)

The Bachelor of Science program in Information Technology and Informatics is an interdisciplinary program that provides expertise to create and manage optimally functioning digital information systems. Students demonstrate abilities in qualitative and quantitative methods associated with the policies, collection, processing, analytics and visualization of information applied to a broad range of fields such as embedded, mobile, and cloud-based platforms required for next generation careers.  

Through an experiential curriculum, the program produces career-ready graduates enabled for ongoing employment in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Graduates are ready to communicate, plan, analyze, design, construct and maintain information systems in the digital world, contributing to the improvement of information flow and quality required in the data-driven decision-making process.

Requirements (80 credits)


E. Electives (12 credits)


At least twelve additional credits in CIS, CIT, CSC, CYB, ITI, and/or SWE courses at the 300 level or above.

F. Additional Requirements


All requirements of the College of Innovation and Technology Bachelor of Science degree, including General Education requirements , and all University of Michigan-Flint graduation requirements .

Minimum Credits for the Degree: 120 credits

Honors Program


All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program.  Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
