Human-Centered Design Program (BS)

|
The Human-Centered Design BS program will provide students with extensive training and research experience in applying human factors to real-world situations. The program meets local demands for design experts in a variety of industries and responds to the needs of students who want to pursue careers in user-experience research and design and/or to explore, extend and integrate theoretical and practical issues in design using a human-centered approach.
The goals of the program are to:
- Provide students knowledge to explore, extend, and integrate theoretical and practical issues in design using a human-centered approach
- Provide students abilities to function in multidisciplinary teams and develop innovative solutions to real-life design problems
- Prepare students for career opportunities in human-centered design

Prerequisites (10 credits)
Requirements
Eight-eight credits as follows:
A. Programming Foundations (8 credits)
B. HCD Core Courses (48 credits)
C. Mathematics and Statistics (8 credits)
D. Capstone Experience (8 credits)
E. Professional Tracks (16 credits)
Four courses from one of the following concentrations:
Augmented and Virtual Reality and Game Development
Human-Centered Engineering Design
Honors Program
All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
