Overview of the emerging field of mental health promotion, focused on promoting mental well being and preventing mental ill health. Construction and critique of interventions designed to promote mental health, on individual, community and policy levels. Evidence-based interventions in schools, workplace, primary care, and other settings. The link between physical and mental well-being; the epidemiology of mental disorders; the role of stigma; issues relating to inequalities. Not open to students with credit for HCR 461.
