Introduction to techniques necessary for participation in policy practice, policy advocacy, and community organizing, such as participating in the electoral process, influencing policy through writing policy briefs and opinion letters, testimony, etc. Using a historical lens, students learn to conduct policy analysis, examine social programs and policies for differential impact, and observe connections between local and global issues.
