Study of hip hop dance in America, from the Funk era to the present. Movement and lecture course examining foundational forms of hip hop dance as social phenomena, cultural expression, and ways of communicating that erupted from African American and Latino youth. Particular attention paid to origins, appropriation and commercialization. Graded ABCDE
