Students consider the human, technical, educational and moral aspects of supervision and professional learning, and review effective procedures while practicing standards-based observation, feedback, and improvement planning. Examination of the academic literature on issues in teacher evaluation and retention, including pre-tenure evaluation of teaching effectiveness, remediation strategies for beginning teachers, and the use of professional learning communities to enhance post-tenure teaching performance.
