Health Sciences and Honors Programs (BS)

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is designed for students with interests in human health leading to graduate study or career advancement.

This degree is designed to provide foundational courses required for professional health science post-graduate work in fields such as medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, occupational therapy, pharmacy, nutrition, and environmental health.

Requirements


At least 124 credits, to include:

C. Track of Choice


One of the following tracks:

Environmental Health and Safety Track (48 credits)


Prepares graduates for positions in public and private sector settings, including local and state health departments, and private sector positions such as chemical waste management and workplace safety.

Environmental scientists and specialists use their knowledge of the natural sciences to protect the environment and human health. They may clean up polluted areas, advise policymakers, or work with industry to reduce waste.

Environmental scientists and specialists work in offices and laboratories; some may spend time in the field gathering data and monitoring environmental conditions firsthand. Most work full time.

D. Additional Requirements


Minimum of 30 major credits in residency

Completion of Health Sciences Exit Survey for post-graduation data
 

All University of Michigan-Flint graduation requirements  including General Education  requirements


Minimum Credits for the Degree: 124 credits

Honors Program Requirements


Prospective Honors Program students are required to complete all of the above Health Sciences requirements and University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program  requirements along with:
